Not that we are alone in this sentiment but man oh man have wee been busy. since our last post many exciting things have happened. I guess excitng it a relative term, but it has been fun.
On January 24, 2008, Mike and Mary Walker came to visit us. Well, probably came to visit Zach but we are the bonus to that visit. Later that weekend Doug and I went down to San Diego for his company's annual Presidents Weekend. It was nice to get away for two days just the two of us (and all of Doug's coworkers!).
We stayed at the Omni San Diego hotel right in the middle of the gas lamp district. And hold onto your seat when you hear about our crazy first night there. Sysco hosted a cocktail reception that last until 9. Feeling free and ready to go we headed down to the hotel lobby, then sat down and played a rousing game of Uno until midnight! When we go out, we go all out!
The next day we played golf. This was a lot of fun, especially since this was the first time I had played in a LONG time. and Surpisingly I didn't play too bad. Almost made me wish I played a little more. The rest of the day was spent relaxing then a nice dinner and back to bed.
By the time Sunday morning came around (and actually Saturday afternoon), we were ready to head back to the house to see our baby boy. It was only two days away and we knew Zach was in good hands but we did miss him. Of course we talked about him most of the weekend and on the way home. Then came the big moment. We pulled in the driveway, walked up the stairs and saw our little boy sitting on the couch with Nanny and Granddad. He looked at us long and hard, then we thought the smile was coming, the bottom lip started to move but instead of going up it went down and out! Then came the tears! While we were so happy to see Zach, he wanted to make sure we knew he did not like it that we left. Of course he only thought that for half a second, and only when he actually saw us. The rest of the time he didn't even know we were gone, but oh will we never forget that look he gave us! Talk about shattering a moment. That little boy sure knows how to manipulate us!

New Year's Resolutions and the introduction of Zans!
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I would be updating this with some of our New Year's Resolution. We have been very conscience to workout and eat better this year. And luckily we have found a great trainer named Zans (distant cousin of Hans and Frans)!
And he has decided to pump us up!
If you would like to hire Zans to pump you up, you can contact us as we are handling his booking.
Football and Zach just now finding out the Eagles are no longer a playoff contender.
I do seem to be taking it better than Zach though......................
(thank you Patience for the McNabb jersey and to Joe and Lea for the Eagles outfit)
Mom mom and our very own Buddy the Elf (What's your favorite color?)
I know the holidays have past but I am hoping many of you saw one of the best holiday movies of all times, ELF with Will Ferrell. We watched this movie, Doug actually, for the very first time!
Good thing he saw it otherwise this photo we took a few days later wouldn't have been nearly as funny.
Mommom came to visit us in Houston at the end of December. Zachary loved getting to spend time with his mi-mom. We took some wonderful photos of this visit, with Zachary and mi-mom. This one photo made us all laugh though. The others are at the bottom.
What's so funny about this photo you might ask? Check out the one below for comparison sake.

The Plague of 2008!
Please keep your fingers crossed as I think the Plague of 2008 may finally be leaving our home! I knew when Zachary started daycare there was a chance he would be get sick once in a while. Hmmm. Maybe I was naive. He managed to catch a cough and has had it ever since. He also has brought every illness home to me as well. I guess that doesn't say much about my own immune system.
Well, this most recent bug has been a whopper. It started on December 29 and just left last week, more than 18 days of being ill, and not just a little sick, but full on ILL!!! And of course, as luck would have it Doug has also now contracted the plague. He is just about done his Z-Pak and Zach seems to be doing a little better too. We have scrubbed down the house, loaded up on vitamins and have been eating as healthy as we can. I have also been praying that Zach finally gets well, sleeps soundly and that all of us get stronger and beat these nasty viruses!
I hope you all load up on vitamin c, wash your hands frequently and stay away from anyone who has the slightest inclination on illness. You do not want this.

Zachary and the Aggie Motherland
This is another late post but I wanted to be sure to add it on. Zachary went to his first Texas A&M athletic event over the Christmas holiday week. Mike and Mary Walker have season tickets to the Aggie Men's basketball team and were nice enough to take us to the game with them. Here are some photos to document the momentous occassion.
Doug and Zachary on the court.
