I tend to think each age Zach reaches is better than the one before, and while I still hold true to this thought I will say this stage is a little tougher than most. I know we will get through this but sometimes I wish for it to come sooner rather than later, then again I don't know if I want to know what is next!

Jeckyll and Hyde
What is it about a two year old and multiple personality disorder? Everyday I go from having a loveable two year old little boy who randomly hugs me saying,"Mom-my, Mom-my, Mom-my" over and over again, covering me in random kisses, cuddling up on the couch to read a book or watch a show to a little boy who become unrecognizable in an instant. This little stranger boy cries for no reason, will sit down or lay down anywhere he wants (middle of a street, at a check out line, living room floor, on the stairs) and cry incessantly over the silliest things. Today he was so mad at me because I wouldn't let him get a plunger while we were at Home Depot. I guess he thought it would make a good sword or weapon!

Week 17
Yesterday was my doctors appointment. Some of these appointments are incredibly uneventful but the heartbeat sounded great (152-154 beats per minute), by stomach is really starting to pop out and we are feeling some small movements. Thankfully the weeks are moving right along. Zach likes to kiss my tummy in the morning and say hello baby. I know he will be a great big brother.
Onto the Fruit/Vegetable of the week!
Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

Week 16: How big is baby Walker this week?

How your baby's growing:
Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.
How your life's changing:
The top of your uterus is about halfway between your pubic bone and your navel, and the round ligaments that support it are thickening and stretching as it grows. You're probably feeling a whole lot better as you settle into pregnancy, too. Less nausea, fewer mood swings, and "glowing" skin contribute to an overall sense of well-being.Soon you'll experience one of the most wonderful moments of pregnancy — feeling your baby move. While some women notice "quickening" as early as 16 weeks, many don't feel their baby move until about 18 weeks or more. The earliest movements may feel like little flutters, gas bubbles, or even like popcorn popping. Over the following weeks they'll grow stronger and you'll be able to feel them much more frequently.

Do you get this excited for your favorite Television Show?
Zach has two shows that he prefers to watch over most others, Handy Manny and Calliou. If you aren't sure what he is saying in this video it's "Manny, Manny, Manny". We haven't had Handy Manny on very much lately and we happened to catch it the other day. To say Zach was excited was an understatement.
(on a side note, we do have furniture but we were waiting for our new purchases that particular day and it is possible I may do this same dance on Thursday when the new season of the Office starts!).

Baby #2: Week 15

The biggest news of the summer was the news that the Walker Family (of California) is getting a little larger! What was once a party of 3 is happily growing into a party of 4!
I will be updating baby information based on emails I get from babycenter.com as well as my personal experiences!
Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs. Although her eyelids are still fused shut, she can sense light. If you shine a flashlight at your tummy, for instance, she's likely to move away from the beam.
There's not much for your baby to taste at this point, but she is forming taste buds. Finally, if you have an ultrasound this week, you may be able to find out whether your baby's a boy or a girl! (Don't be too disappointed if it remains a mystery, though. Nailing down your baby's sex depends on the clarity of the picture and on your baby's position. He or she may be modestly curled up or turned in such a way as to "hide the goods.") I don't think we are going to find out until week 21.

We are super excited to welcome a new baby into our lives and give Zach a baby brother or sister.

We've moved!
So one big piece of news this summer is that we moved! YAY! We are no longer "Oxnardians" as Doug liked to call it. We are now Camarillo people. A much prettier sounding name than Oxnard.
I will say Oxnard was very good to us. I never in a million years thought we would live there for 4 (FOUR!!!) years, but it was a very good 4 years.
I am looking forward to our newest location chapter, Camarillo.

Where did the summer go?
We had such a great summer this year. It was filled with great weather, family vacations, trips to the pool, walks to the frozen yogurt shop and many other terrific summer memories. I haven't updated the blog very often because I have been lazy, tired, busy, bored, etc. But I am working on a few updates to share some of our great summer memories. I hope to have it all completed in the next week.
